Welcome to LCA Thailand
Hello! I’m Punch!
I’m the one who currently faces the genetic disease, named Labor’s Congenital Amaurosis or low vision. I intend to encourage all families facing all the genetic diseases as they should highly be supported and a happy life deserves to be with them throughout the time. It is my pleasure to begin with my personal experience as a LCA patient.
I have been diagnosed with low vision since I was very young, and my family has tried the best to treat me as an individual with normal vision. I have been encouraged to study in the school where there was no visually-impaired students. I have never read and written Braille, though I have to spend thousands of hours practicing reading and writing the letter by a very poor sight.
There are several times that I got bullied from others, which made me cry uncountably. No matter how many tear drops came out from my eyes, I perceived this as one of the life lessons that grew me up today.
I’m currently able to read and write normally, and technological advancement has been utilized to facilitate in my life such as computer, phone, and tablet with the “ZOOM” function to magnify the window. It is such a luck to be born in this generation where technology is greatly developed.
It truly simplifies my daily life. To illustrate, there are several applications launched in Thailand such as Grab, Lineman (for food delivery), and other applications for shopping. It is easier to live and travel alone without disturbing someone to accompany.
Imagine, if I think that ‘life’ depends on destiny and there is no way to change it, I might have been discouraged. Instead, if I don’t believe that destiny is exist, I will no longer give up on what obstacles faced and will enjoy my path.
